About

Nicholas M. Synovic is an AI Application Architect and Computer Science Researcher at Loyola University Chicago (LUC) where he conducts empirical research on the intersection of software engineering, AI, and deep neural network (DNN) reuse.

Nicholas is driven to identify patterns, methods, and techniques to leverage AI models within existing applications in domains by expanding and improving upon methods to operationalize them.

He has achieved his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees (in 2022 and 2024 respectively) in Computer Science from LUC.

His professional work history spans:

  • Website developement, publication, management, and maintence,
  • Development and deployment of distributed cluster computers for computer vision research, and
  • Developing applications for assisting in internal talent management and development.

His academic history includes:

  • 6 academic publications at top software engineering confrences,
  • 3 academic confrence committee positions,
  • 2 preprints on the challenges and advances of the pre-trained DNN reusability, and
  • Is a two time panelist at Intel oneAPI events and ambassador
